I survived the meeting of the parents. And since I'd already met Adrian's dad, it was only the mom I had to be nervous of. Luckily for all, it went really (really) well. We had a great Thanksgiving dinner, played a new game - Farkle, and walked on the beach. One of the best, if not THE best, Thanksgivings ever.
Redesigned the blog a bit. Getting more and more frustrated with blogdrive. but that's neither here nor there. Suffice it to say I'm going to be doing something about it, and soon.
That's my goal by the end of the year.
Speaking of goals, I have another few. I participated in
NaNoWriMo last year, and didn't complete it. It's a novel writing competition - write a 50,000 word novel in the month of November. I got about 10k done, and couldn't do anymore due to computer and boyfriend problems. Needless to say, both of those are fixed. For one thing,
the boyfriend is fabulous. And a friend is loaning me a laptop. Success will be MINE!
Another goal in the same category is that I want to finish the novel I've been working on for so long by the end of the year. No excuses. I'm thinking I'd like to start it over again - and use it for nanowrimo, but we'll see. Either way, I'm going to make it happen. No excuses.
Yet another goal is to continue trying to sell jewelry and knitting (jewelry may have sold well over the holiday weekend - it went home with a friend, who called to ask about prices. Cross your fingers.). I love my art. I want to make more of it, and the only way I can make more is to sell it. Turn around, you could say. So, tell all your friends and family to
shop me for Christmas. While you're at it, send them over to
buy some GORGEOUS art. This girl needs Christmas presents, too! A KITTEN, PERHAPS?!? I'm not allowed to get one until we're sure the humans are getting fed and bills are paid, so...yeah. *sniffle* Be sure to go through all the galleries on all the pages. Trust me, there are some beautiful pictures you haven't seen yet.
On a related note - my fund for "Buy Maigen a Kitten" is on the left. See it? It's Google Ads. And that other ad thingie. Click if you see something interesting. Don't if you don't. Easy!
